Over the years, the Alhambra® collection has become

Van Cleef & Arpels’ icon of luck. Since 1968, its emblematic aesthetic has lent itself to elegant interpretations of materials and functions.

Delicate metamorphoses

The Maison introduces an element of its historical heritage to this collection: transformable jewelry. Thus, two new long necklaces and two new reversible rings are unveiled, offering a symphony of nuances.

For the first time, the Magic Alhambra transformable long necklaces reveal different ways to be worn, as a sautoir, a necklace or as a bracelet, thanks to a detachable piece. These new jewelry creations captivate the eye with elegant color combinations, blending ornamental stones and organic materials.

The Vintage Alhambra reversible rings, with their double beaded contour, now offer new plays of materials and colors. The gray mother-of-pearl engages with the guilloché aesthetic in rose gold, while white gold blends with the scalloped tones of chalcedony.

Final polishing of the creation

The guilloché aesthetic draws inspiration from a traditional engraving technique that has long been part of the Maison’s heritage. Historically used to adorn dials, Minaudières™, and other precious objects, this radiant sunbeam-like pattern brings a luminous and contemporary dimension to the collection’s timeless motifs.

To allow the precious transformations of the creations, English blade clasps are subtly inserted into certain motifs, while preserving their aesthetic. This highly discreet system has been the subject of various phases of research and testing to ensure its robustness, as well as fluid and easy handling, enabling the creations to stand the test of time.

Vibrant shades

Nature has always been a source of inspiration for Van Cleef & Arpels. It is also home to its most beautiful materials: carnelian, mother-of-pearl, turquoise, onyx, chalcedony... As with diamonds, these are selected according to the strictest quality criteria.

Over the decades, the Alhambra collection has continued to evolve, welcoming multiple variations in sizes and materials, while retaining its original characteristics.

History in the making since 1968

From the beginning, luck has been one of the Maison’s core values, guiding its creation and, in 1968, leading to the first Alhambra long necklace, inspired by the shape of a four-leaf clover. Like a delightful good-luck charm, it features 20 textured yellow gold motifs, delicately bordered with golden beads.
