    "Precious Art Deco Objects" exhibition

The collection, amassed for the Princess Catherine Aleya Aga Khan, wife of the Prince Sadruddin Aga Khan, features some incredible masterpieces, attesting to a remarkable innovativeness, imagination, skills and savoir faire.

These precious objects, whose craftsmanship was as important as their function, were specially designed for the first wave of ‘liberated’ women in the 1920s: women who smoked, enjoyed going out, applied make-up in public and dare publically keeping an eye on their watch.

The exhibition at L’École, School of Jewelry Arts showcases the multiple Chinese, Japanese, Persian and European influences on these exceptional Art Deco objects.

Free entrance April 4th to 25th

From Monday to Saturday, 12 pm -7 pm

Venue: L’École, School of Jewelry  Arts

31, rue Danielle Casanova, 75001 Paris

"Floral jewelry, from day to evening" exhibition

News - Image - "Floral jewelry, from day to evening" exhibition

Around forty pieces from Van Cleef & Arpels' collection highlight the theme of flora, a theme dear to the Maison.

When wearing these pieces from the 1930s to the 1960s certain rules of elegance were to resepect: prefer yellow gold for daytime and favor platinum for nocturnal creations. This distinction between "daytime jewelery" and "evening jewelery" disappeared during the hippie chic period of the 1970s and then reappeared ten years later, in the 1980s.

Accessories and precious objects are also showcased in this exhibition, offering a fabulous ground for the representation of the wonders of the flora.
