Daily care of your watch
By using and handling your watch with special care, you can preserve its beauty and function over time.
Daily wear
Your timepiece is precious, so we recommend avoiding some actions that may damage it or alter its performance.
Your watch's sealing is adapted to everyday use. It can tolerate exposure to light splashes, but we strongly advise against immersing it in water. Please ensure the crown is always closed, except when adjusting.
We recommend avoiding contact with extreme temperatures (below 0°C or above 60°C) and strong magnetic fields (such as those emitted by magnets or household appliances), as they may affect the movement's accuracy.
Generally, we advise avoiding contact with products such as perfumes and cosmetics, which may alter leather bracelets.
Below are a few tips on how to handle your timepiece properly in order to preserve its longevity:
- - For quartz watches, we recommend that you never leave a dead battery in your watch to prevent potential damage to the movement. We invite you to visit our boutiques for a battey service.
- - For watches with manual winding, it is preferable to wind them daily by turning the crown until you feel slight resistance.
- - For watches with automatic winding, ensure the strap is perfectly adjusted to your wrist to facilitate proper winding (if your timepiece stops working, you may wind it manually by turning the crown to restart the movement.)
- - We advise against adjusting the date between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m., as the movement's gears are engaged in the automatic date change during this period.

Cleaning
We recommend cleaning your watch with a soft, dry cloth, paying particular attention to the bracelet or strap.
The bracelets and straps on Van Cleef & Arpels watches are made from fine materials, including leather, gold, and platinum. Leather is a material that naturally ages over time. To preserve it, we recommend avoiding all contact with water, humidity, and cosmetic products. Bracelets in gold and platinum may be cleaned safely using a soft brush soaked in warm water with pH-neutral soap, rinsed in clear water, and dried with a soft cloth. Be sure to protect the watch face from water during this process.
