Since 1941, the Dancers have gracefully embodied the refinement of Van Cleef & Arpels . Introducing the tradition of feminine figures dear to the Maison, they were born out of Louis Arpels’ fascination for the art of dance and have been twirling ever since.
This is a story of passion. Ever since Louis Arpels had made a habit of going to Palais Garnier a few entrechats from place Vendôme, Van Cleef & Arpels united with the art of dance. A passion that came to life with the first Dancer clips in 1941. Since then, world famous ballets have inspired some creations imbued with grace.
Jewelry and dance share in common the dedication to precision and finesse. In carefully observing ballet dancers, Van Cleef & Arpels created a poetry of movement: touched by grace, the ballerinas seem to be dancing on pointe and spinning for eternity. A perfect arabesque, an aerial jeté and an exquisite entrechat become precious pieces in the hands of the craftsmen.
Pleated gold, precious gems, ornamental stones… the Mains d’Or™ create tutus that perfectly mimic the shapes and textures of stage costumes. Reflecting the Maison’s know-how, they dress the dancers with thousands of colors. Their rose-cut diamond faces are the signatures of these elegant and feminine figures.
Adorned with colors and costumes from around the world, the dancers of Van Cleef & Arpels celebrate the exotic facets of the dancing arts. From the Celestial Empire to the spellbinding Orient, they reflect the Maison’s curiosity for other cultures.
