Van Cleef & Arpels Design Scholarship Program highlighted by Grand Prize window displays
January 15, 2026
Since 2021, the Maison has been conducting the Van Cleef & Arpels Design Scholarship, an industry-academia collaboration program in partnership with three schools: Traditional Arts Super College of Kyoto, Kanazawa College of Arts, and Tokyo University of the Arts. This program aims at developing the skills and knowledge of Japanese traditional crafts by supporting talented artisans and creators of the next generation.
Ms. Wakana Yatani, Grand Prize winner of the 2021 program with Traditional Arts Super College of Kyoto, is set to unveil a new special display. After her successful 2023 exhibition at the Van Cleef & Arpels Shinsaibashi boutique, her creations will now elegantly grace the windows of six Japanese boutiques.
"The enchanting flowers of spring are often preceded by a cold and harsh winter, and they embody the effort and perseverance required to bloom beyond such adversity." says Wakana Yatani. "I have poured into this piece the strength and beauty that reside within the firm buds, along with the hopeful anticipation of a beautiful spring."
Her work, which masterfully combines free imagination with traditional craft techniques, beautifully aligns with the Maison's poetic and innovative pieces.
