The artist

Arthur Hoffner, a craftsman at heart

From the age of 10, Arthur Hoffner was introduced to ironwork in the family garden. He then pursued his passion for metallurgy with the Coubertin Foundation’s Compagnons du Devoir crafts guild before entering the École Boulle and then Ensci - Les Ateliers.

He sits at the crossroads of sculpture and design as he has forged links with designers and publishers, as well as major manufacturers. When the Maison met the young designer, there was an immediate affinity between his work and the world of Perlée creations. “There is a very strong correlation between my work and the imagery evoked by this collection, its colors, its presentation. The interaction between moving shapes and joyful colors resonates with my own explorations” says Arthur Hoffner.

Dive into the Perlée collection

Launched in 2008, the Perlée collection draws inspiration from the Maison’s creative heritage and elevates the golden

bead to a central motif. In single or multiple rows, on jewellery or watchmaking pieces, the collection's emblematic precious spheres give rise to pieces of rounded volume.

Golden beads echo the beaded contour of the case

Carefully polished to achieve a subtle interplay of light and reflections, the golden beads create a rounded and graphic universe, while showcasing the Maison's expert savoir-faire. The creations glow with the radiance of yellow, rose or white gold and are an invitation to an elegant play of layering and pairing.

Starting in the late 1940s, golden beads took center stage and became an aesthetic in their own right. Prized for their ability to capture light and amplify brilliance, they appeared in the Couscous collection, where abstract pieces displayed polished yellow gold beads mounted on a supple Tubogas-style chain. The collection also paired the radiance of golden beads with the nuances of precious stones and diamonds.
