The Maison presents the "Timeless Art Deco with Van Cleef & Arpels High Jewelry" exhibition in Tokyo
June 19, 2025
From September 27th, 2025 to January 18th, 2026, the "Timeless Art Deco with Van Cleef & Arpels High Jewelry" exhibition will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts, held in Paris in 1925. Van Cleef & Arpels won a Grand Prize at this event for pieces showcased, which included the 1924 Entwined Flowers, Red and White Roses bracelet, today on display in Tokyo. This floral-inspired creation is key to understanding the Maison's vision of Art Deco. The event enhanced the artistic turn occurring in architecture and decorative arts since the 1910s, exemplified by the Former Residence of Prince Asaka, now the Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum, which will hold "Timeless Art Deco".
The exhibition will feature 250 creations—jewelry, timepieces and precious objects—from the Van Cleef & Arpels patrimonial collection and private collections, alongside par over 60 of the Maison’s archival documents.
A large number of Art Deco pieces crafted between the 1910s and 1930s are on display in the Main Building. The creations presented in the Annex pay tribute to the Maison’s emblematic savoir-faire: goldwork, transformability, the Mystery Set, enamel and gemstones sculpting.
