Van Cleef & Arpels partners with “21, 39 Jeddah Arts”
March 22, 2022
Throughout its history, Van Cleef & Arpels has consistently expressed its dedication to the cultural and artistic sphere. Reaffirming this commitment, the Maison is proud to encourage for the seventh consecutive year the Saudi creative art scene with its support to “21,39 Jeddah Arts” 2022.
Organized by the Saudi Art Council in the city of Jeddah from March 3rd to June 3rd, 2022, this year’s event is curated by Venetia Porter. She has also worked as a curator of Islamic and Contemporary Middle East Art at the British Museum in London.
Under the theme of “Amakin”, the event focuses on the idea of place and space. Artists will crystalize the meaning behind these concepts based on their personal experiences reflected in their artwork. This initiative contributes to engage Saudi artists, designers, and thinkers to showcase their talent and creativity.
For many decades, the Maison explores a multitude of precious stones, materials and jewelry technics which allowed to give life to a certain idea of cosmos. Especially, Van Cleef & Arpels presents the Etoiles Mystérieuses necklace, designed with the Maison’s special Mystery SetTM technique, and which tubular structure is inspired by a hypothetical space structure linking two points in the space-continuum. Visitors are invited to discover other creations, as the Expansion bracelet, inspired by the concentric rounded shape of a luminous supernova, or Rencontre Lunaire earrings, which refers to the different phases of the moon.
In dynamic outlines, dazzling silhouettes and chromatic explosions, this dreamlike contemplative journey explores both gems and the heavens in all their hidden beauty.
