"To be lucky, you need to believe in luck," as Jacques Arpels used to say. A Maison lucky charm, the Alhambra motif is inspired by the four-leaf clover. The first long necklace, in creased yellow gold, was created in 1968. The collection has been enriched over the years with added functions and materials.
A value dear to Van Cleef & Arpels, luck has often guided its steps and inspired its creations, such as jewelry with wooden talismans, charms and ladybugs. Jacques Arpels enjoyed picking four-leaf clovers to offer them, along with the poem, "Don’t Quit," a reminder to never give up hope.
From stone selection and jewelry work to setting and polishing, the Maison's savoir-faire comes together to bring Alhambra creations to life. They reflect Van Cleef & Arpels' tradition of excellence and attention to detail, forged by over 100 years of expertise. Fluid and refined, these creations initially imagined as sautoirs accompany the wearer's movements with elegance.
Celebrating the beauty of nature, the Alhambra collection constantly evolves through a wide range of materials, including white and gray mother-of-pearl, carnelian, creased gold and diamonds. Each material reflects the Maison's distinctive taste for gemstones and its stringent selection process.
Bordered with gold beads – another aesthetic signature of the Maison – the Alhambra motif adorns long necklaces, pendants, bracelets and reversible rings. The collection, enriched over the years by a host of functions and materials, adds timeless elegance to every silhouette. The collection's watch creations are a precious showcase for the passing of time, imbuing each minute with luck and radiance.
