de Mains en mains by Van Cleef & Arpels

The Maison Van Cleef & Arpels, a Living Heritage company with a long-standing commitment to the transmission of jewelry professions and savoir-faire, has renewed its initiative intended for young people and the general public: “de Mains en mains”.

The third edition of "de Mains en mains" took place in Lyon from November 25th to December 3rd, 2023, at the InterContinental Lyon – Hotel Dieu. Participants could attend a Parcours Métiers (Professional Pathways) with professional jewelry experts, as well as classes, conferences and workshops offered by L’ÉCOLE, School of Jewelry Arts. They also could discover historical and contemporary pieces created by the Maison though an exhibition. This initiative reflects the Maison's commitment to new generations and those seeking professional retraining, with the aim of bringing the jewelry professions to as many people as possible.

Professional pathways

Over the course of a week, craftsmen from Van Cleef & Arpels’ Paris and Lyon workshops shared and discussed about their experience, their everyday life and their passion with groups of students. These students tried their hand at several specialized gestures such as setting, polishing or jewelry work.

The Parcours Métiers (Professional Pathways) were also open to the general public, by reservation, on the weekends. All attended craftsmen’s interactive demonstrations of savoir-faire. Visitors also met with jewelry schools and Human Resources team from Van Cleef & Arpels who presented the different training programs dedicated to these traditional crafts.
