Van Cleef & Arpels drew inspiration from four major works by Jules Verne: Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, Five Weeks in a Balloon, From the Earth to the Moon and Journey to the Center of the Earth. Enchanting worlds arise, a vital mix of sumptuous flora and cosmic wonders.

Iconic Landmark Prince’s boutique in Hong Kong SAR, China

Following Paris and New York, Van Cleef & Arpels inaugurated its Maison in Hong Kong, Landmark Prince’s.

“Set in Style” exhibition at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum in New York.

The exhibit illustrated how the history of design influenced Van Cleef & Arpels creations in the 20th century. More than 350 exceptional objects exemplified the spirit of the Maison: innovation, transformation, nature, exoticism, fashion and celebrities.

Palais de la chance® High Jewelry collection

Demonstrating a poetic vision of the world, Van Cleef & Arpels paid tribute to luck in its myriad dimensions. Setting off on a journey from the Earth to the sky, through East and West, the Maison collected a multitude of good-luck charms, transforming them into sparkling jewels.

Creation of the École des Arts Joailliers

Founded with the support of Van Cleef & Arpels, the École des Arts Joailliers introduces the public to the world of jewelry through courses, conferences and exhibitions. Courses address three themes: the history of the art of jewelry, savoir-faire and the world of stones.

“Timeless Beauty” exhibition at the Shanghai Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), China.

Looking back on more than 100 years of history, the exhibition featured jewelry, watches, fashion accessories, objets d’art and archival documents. For the first time in China, visitors marveled at more than 370 pieces from the Van Cleef & Arpels Collection, as well as private collections.

“Van Cleef & Arpels, L’Art de la Haute Joaillerie” at the Paris Musée des Arts Décoratifs.

The creative audacity of Van Cleef & Arpels was highlighted amid a decor created by the Jouin Manku Agency. The exhibition featured more than 500 pieces having contributed to the Maison’s renown from 1906 onwards, presented in chronological order alongside a multitude of sketches and archival documents.

Partnership between Van Cleef & Arpels and Benjamin Millepied

French dancer and choreographer Benjamin Millepied, along with his troupe L.A. Dance Project, performed an original work inspired by an encounter with Van Cleef & Arpels. Entitled Reflections, this ballet is the first part of a trilogy, Gems, followed by Hearts & Arrows and On the Other Side in 2014 and 2016, respectively.

Embodying the enchantment of fairy tales, the Peau d’Âne raconté par Van Cleef & Arpels collection drew inspiration from Charles Perrault’s celebrated fable. The collection served as a vehicle for some of the Maison’s dearest themes, from feminine figures to Enchanted Nature, and from finery to the language of love.

Midnight Planétarium watch

The Midnight Planétarium watch evokes the wonders of the universe, capturing the revolution of the planets. This celestial ballet catches the gaze while a shooting star shows the time of day. A good-luck star invites the wearer to record his lucky day on the star-studded dial. The watch face portrays a miniature Sun, together with the five planets visible from Earth with the naked eye: Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. Thanks to an exclusive module, each planet rotates on its own disc, replicating its actual pace relative to the Sun.

L’Arche de Noé racontée par Van Cleef & Arpels exhibition, with a decor designed by Robert Wilson

Van Cleef & Arpels paid tribute to fauna, captured in all its richness and diversity through the animals riding out the flood two by two aboard Noah’s Ark. To present this High Jewelry collection, the Maison called upon the famous American director Robert Wilson to design the decor.

The exhibition offered an innovative look into the history of jewelry and minerals. Alongside Van Cleef & Arpels creations, visitors admired natural treasures from the renowned collection of the Parisian Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle.

Opening of the boutique at 20 Place Vendôme

Van Cleef & Arpels expanded its footprint at Place Vendôme. A third address was established to house, in particular, a Heritage Gallery dedicated to temporary exhibitions of vintage pieces. 20, 22 and 24 Place Vendôme thus became Les Salons Vendôme.

Iconic Tokyo Ginza Maison Boutique

Van Cleef & Arpels, present in Japan since 1973, strengthened its links to the country by opening a Maison in the Ginza neighborhood. Redesigned by the Jouin Manku Agency, the building’s decor suggested a subtle nod to Japanese architecture.

Featured at the National Museum of Modern Art in Kyoto, the exhibition drew a parallel between Van Cleef & Arpels’ High Jewelry and traditional Japanese savoir-faire including dyes, weaving, ceramics, lacquer and embroidery.

“Van Cleef & Arpels, When Elegance Meets Art” exhibition at the Today Art Museum in Beijing

Launched in 2012 at the Paris Musée des Arts Décoratifs, this exhibition traveled abroad for the first time, presented in China with the addition of new creations. The High Jewelry pieces on display were arranged in chronological order to illustrate how the Van Cleef & Arpels style evolved over time while maintaining its spirit of elegance and poetry.

“Van Cleef & Arpels: Time, Nature, Love” exhibition at the Palazzo Reale in Milan, Italy

For the first time in Italy, the exhibition displays a selection of jewelry, watches and precious objects created by Van Cleef & Arpels since its founding. The journey revolves around three themes dear to the Maison: Time, Love and Nature.
