The collection Moby Dick raconté par Van Cleef & Arpels pays tribute to Herman Melville's novel and celebrates Robert Wilson's Moby Dick performance at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus on September 7th, 2024, supported by Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels. This collection is composed of four High Jewelry pieces and three Timepieces, born from the Maison's desire to explore the oceans through poetic and narrative creations.
The collection Moby Dick raconté par Van Cleef & Arpels pays tribute to Herman Melville’s novel, a classic in literature, inspired by travel and oceans. This creation reflects the sea, a theme dear to Van Cleef & Arpels. The dial comes to life with powerful waves in plique-à-jour and champlevé enamel. The golden ship with diamond-paved sails creates volume and an impressive perception of reality. The background in miniature painting anchors the scene in a stormy weather in broad daylight. This 42mm case encloses preciousness, art and elegance thanks to the diverse Métiers d'Art that contributed to this unique piece.
