The Zip necklace is exhibited at the second edition of Homo Faber, in Venice

Exhibition - 28 March 2022

Van Cleef & Arpels is pleased to announce its second-time participation in the Homo Faber exhibition. The latter takes place from April 10th through May 1st, 2022, at the Giorgio Cini Foundation, located on the San Giorgio Maggiore Island in Venice, Italy.

The second Homo Faber exhibition is a showcase for connecting Japanese and European craftsmanship, encompassing 15 themed spaces. Over a three-week period, craftspeople, Maisons, and designers come together to present the diversity of techniques, materials, and the expertise behind the creation of exceptional decorative or functional pieces.

As part of a collection celebrating the intricacies and elegance of luxury Maisons’ objects, Van Cleef & Arpels pays homage to one of its boldest High Jewelry landmarks: the Zip necklace.

The event spotlights the talent of six Van Cleef & Arpels’ jewelers, who perform demonstrations to exhibit the savoir-faire required to craft such pieces. Visitors have also the opportunity to discover two contemporary necklaces under craft, coming from the Paris workshop especially for the event. To showcase the developments in techniques used through the ages, Van Cleef & Arpels unveils three Zip necklaces from its patrimonial collection.

The exhibition spaces stage a plethora of materials and crafts, from endangered traditional techniques to cutting-edge contemporary methods.
