Opened 1906, 22 Place Vendôme, the Maison’s signature boutique and once home to the Hôtel de Ségur, has been the backdrop for Van Cleef & Arpels creations.

More than a century since its birth, the symbolic boutique recently completed a metamorphosis by the Jouin Manku Design agency. The duo of Patrick Jouin and Sanjit Manku is known for creating unique spaces which harmoniously blend the emotional and the refined. The Design agency has given a contemporary appearance to this historic showcase where Van Cleef & Arpels’ creations and the art of hospitality come together with refinement.

The boutique features a mix of bespoke furnishings, gentle curves, refined details, with sculpted paneling recalling the intricately crafted woodwork reminiscent of the salon’s 18th century roots. The jewelry creations’ dreamlike character is echoed in interlaced plants made of plaster with fairies dancing along the walls of the salon. The eye is drawn to the luminous stairwell, where the 2006 renovation’s emblematic chandelier of hand-blown Murano glass has been retained. The staircase of suspended oak steps appear to be levitating, a blend of technology and craftsmanship.

The newest addition to 22 Place Vendôme is the Maison’s salon dedicated to perfume. A contemporary color scheme and spectacular interplay of undulations line the walls. Echoing the private boxes of a theatre, the individual perfume are displayed on Sèvres porcelain shelves set into an oak alcove. The salon is equipped with an innovative system so that each scent in the Collection Extraordinaire can be savored fully, including the Maison’s signature First – launched in 1976.
