Yellow gold

Many civilizations associate yellow gold with the sun and the divine due to its brilliant color and unalterable nature. It has been used since Antiquity, particularly for sacred or royal objects. Van Cleef & Arpels celebrates the gleaming brilliance of gold in sunny jewelry and watch collections including Frivole® and Alhambra®, as well as in High Jewelry creations such as Zip necklaces.

Immune to oxidation, gold is also the only metal to exhibit a yellow color in its natural state. This most malleable of metals can be transformed into sheets mere hundredths of a millimeter thick, offering jewelers a multitude of creative possibilities.

To preserve the gleam of yellow gold pieces, Van Cleef & Arpels uses a gold known as 750 under the millesimal fineness system. All gold creations are stamped with a hallmark depicting an eagle’s head to certify their purity.
