November 14, 2025
Created in 2001, the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) highlights and rewards the most remarkable contemporary creations. This annual event, held in Geneva in November, gathers the elite of the international watchmaking profession to honour the finest creations and stakeholders who bring vitality and creativity into the watchmaking world. To instill wonderment, Van Cleef & Arpels draws from its history and sources of inspiration, developing new techniques, which were once again recognized this year.
LADY ARPELS BAL DES AMOUREUX AUTOMATE
The Lady Arpels Bal des Amoureux Automate creation won a prize in the Mechanical Exception category at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève 2025.
Continuing the story of the Lady Arpels Une Journée à Paris and Lady Arpels Pont des Amoureux watches, this creation from the Poetic Complications® collection introduces a new rendezvous. It depicts the couple's meeting in a new setting, inspired by a charming guinguette, typical of Paris’s surrounding areas. At noon and midnight, the lovers reunite and share a kiss thanks to the automaton movement, which also allows for an on-demand animation.
CADENAS
The Cadenas® creation was also awarded a prize in the Jewelry Watches category.
Created in 1935, this model continues to stand out for its bold modernity. Its timeless design is characterized by an angled dial, which allows the time to be read discreetly, and by a curved clasp, which blends perfectly with the straight lines of the case. Faithful to its original aesthetic, this watch combines a yellow gold bracelet with a case paved with snow-set diamonds, enhanced by a row of princess-cut sapphires.
