Hexagonal Mystery Set and Diamond Mystery Set
The Maison patented two new Mystery Set techniques. One used hexagonally cut stones while the other was designed for diamonds.
First exhibition at Palais Galliera in Paris
The Musée de la Mode et du Costume, housed in the Palais Galliera in Paris, held an exhibition dedicated to Van Cleef & Arpels. To mark the event, the Maison created a Mystery Set ensemble entitled Galliera, featuring a total of 1,717 rubies, cut one by one with consummate care.
Creation of the Galilée clock
Drawing inspiration from the model created in the 1920s, Van Cleef & Arpels designed the Galilée mysterious clock. The concealed mechanism both tells the time and propels a diamond bear in a revolving motion around the dial.
