Hexagonal Mystery Set™ and Diamond Mystery Set™

The Maison patented two new Mystery Set™ techniques. One used hexagonally cut stones while the other was designed for diamonds.

1992

First exhibition at Palais Galliera in Paris

The Musée de la Mode et du Costume, housed in the Palais Galliera in Paris, held an exhibition dedicated to Van Cleef & Arpels. To mark the event, the Maison created a Mystery Set™ ensemble entitled Galliera, featuring a total of 1,717 rubies, cut one by one with consummate care.

1997

Creation of the Sylvestre and Emotion jewelry sets

These creations pull from the Maison’s heritage while incorporating the graphic and chromatic codes of the 1990s. The wood references the Touch Wood pieces of the 1910s, associated with hope during wartime. Their symbolism of luck evokes a lasting source of inspiration for the Maison that has often guided its path.
