    Lion ébouriffé clip

News - Image - Lion ébouriffé clip

The Boutique Jewelry bestiary, first created in 1954, made up of cartoon-style animal clips, added a playful note to the Maison’s creations. Each piece was signed, original and limited edition; a combination of magnificent gems and exquisite artistry.

In September 2016, the Maison reproduces some pieces of the joyful bestiary and enlarges its figurative creations, beyond the famous Flying Beauties.

Discover the Lion ébouriffé clip originally created in 1962, a seated textured 18k gold lion with circular-cut emerald eyes, enamel nose and paved set diamond muzzle, mounted in platinum.

Van Cleef & Arpels at Masterpiece London 2016

Devoted to art, antiques and design, the international Masterpiece London Fair brings together major works in the elegant surroundings of the Royal Hospital Chelsea  from June 30 to July 6, 2016. Bearing witness to the artistic movements of more than a century, the Maison is taking part for the second consecutive year. Alongside contemporary High Jewelry and Watchmaking creations, it will be presenting vintage pieces from the Heritage collection, some of them presented in public for the first time. While the stylistic references of the last century echo those of today, each item illustrates the excellence, inventiveness and savoir-faire that have characterized Van Cleef & Arpels since 1906.

The Maison will present the Butterfly clip which can be transformed to suit any mood or occasion: the branch, foliage and butterfly can all be removed to form different versions of the clip or comb. Illustrating Van Cleef & Arpels’ jewelry-making expertise, the butterfly features a marquise-cut diamond body and wings in Vitrail Mystery Set™. This exclusive technique magnifies the relief and translucency of the stones in an interplay of shades and reflections.
