    Van Cleef & Arpels (International) Guarantee

    The following Van Cleef & Arpels (International) Guarantee applies to Van Cleef & Arpels watches sold or presented for guarantee service in any country.

    What the Van Cleef & Arpels (International) Guarantee Covers and For How Long

    Your watch has been made according to the strict quality standards of Van Cleef & Arpels and with all the care of highly qualified watchmakers. Nevertheless, the watch is covered by this Van Cleef & Arpels (International) Guarantee against defects in manufacturing and materials. Please contact one of the authorized Van Cleef & Arpels boutiques, Van Cleef & Arpels dealers or Van Cleef & Arpels service centers located around the world (see service contacts below) and they will be able to provide guarantee service as defined herein.

    Van Cleef & Arpels warrants its product against defects in materials and manufacturing for a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase (the “Guarantee period”).  If the product is returned during the Guarantee period, Van Cleef & Arpels will repair or replace any defective watch or part free of charge within a reasonable time after the product is returned, subject to the right to charge for shipping costs. Upon expiration of the Guarantee period, any repairs will be subject to a service charge.

    How to Obtain Service

    You may obtain service by bringing or sending the watch to your authorized Van Cleef & Arpels boutique, Van Cleef & Arpels dealer or to any Van Cleef & Arpels service center as further indicated below. You are responsible for transportation costs, including but not limited to postage, insurance and packing materials. We recommend that any shipments to us include certified delivery and insurance.

    In order to obtain service through this Van Cleef & Arpels (International) Guarantee, the returned watch must be accompanied by the original guarantee card/certificate that was included with the watch at the time of purchase, duly completed, dated, stamped and signed by an authorized Van Cleef & Arpels boutique or Van Cleef & Arpels dealer. Such card/certificate may only be completed by an authorized Van Cleef & Arpels boutique or Van Cleef & Arpels dealer. Documents showing evidence of proper importation of the watch into the country of final destination may be required.

    What is Not Covered under the Van Cleef & Arpels (International) Guarantee

    The Van Cleef & Arpels (International) Guarantee does not cover:

    (a) defects and damages due to loss, theft or fire or other causes beyond our control;

    (b) defects and damages resulting from misuse or negligence, or from accident;

    (c) defects and damages caused by improper use (knocks, dents, crushing to the case, crystal, bracelet or strap, etc.), alterations, tampering, dismantling or services and repairs completed by anyone else than an authorized Van Cleef & Arpels boutique, Van Cleef & Arpels dealer or Van Cleef & Arpels service center, or by the use of components other than those recommended by Van Cleef & Arpels;

    (d) defects and damages due to normal wear and tear;

    (e) watches where the serial number originally imprinted on the watch case is removed or not clearly legible, or where any part of the original watch back or any original number has been removed, changed, altered, replaced, erased or defaced;

    (f)  routine maintenance and cleaning.

    Van Cleef & Arpels Limited Warranty

    Additional guarantee conditions applicable in the United States of America and Canada only:

    Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, the Van Cleef & Arpels international guarantee set forth above is a limited warranty and shall be the exclusive manufacturer’s warranty in lieu of any other express warranties.

    Neither this limited warranty nor any other warranties, whether express or implied, including, but not limited to, any implied warranty of merchantability or implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, shall extend beyond the period of two (2) years from the date of purchase.

    Van Cleef & Arpels will, in its sole discretion, repair or replace any defective watch or part under the limited warranty free of charge subject to the right to charge for shipping costs, and subject to the following conditions:

    The returned watch must be accompanied by the warranty card/certificate (enclosed with the watch), duly completed, dated, stamped and signed by an authorized Van Cleef & Arpels boutique or dealer.  Such card/certificate may only be completed by an authorized Van Cleef & Arpels boutique or Van Cleef & Arpels dealer. 

    The serial number originally imprinted on the watch case is clearly legible and no part of the original watch back or original serial number has been removed, changed, altered, replaced, erased or defaced. 

    In addition to the foregoing, all other conditions set forth in the Van Cleef & Arpels (international) guarantee are applicable to the Van Cleef & Arpels limited warranty in the United States of America and Canada.

    Failure of any of these conditions voids all warranty rights. This warranty is the sole and exclusive remedy. Van Cleef & Arpels shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages.  Van Cleef & Arpels does not authorize any distributor or seller of its products to make any warranties beyond this Limited Warranty or to otherwise assume for Van Cleef & Arpels any obligations or liability in connection with the sale or distribution of its products.

    Some states, provinces or territories do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you.

    A warranty claim may be sent to one of the authorized Van Cleef & Arpels boutiques, Van Cleef & Arpels dealers or Van Cleef & Arpels service centers in the United States of America or Canada or as further specified in ‘Van Cleef & Arpels Service Contacts’, in each case using the procedure outlined in 'How to Obtain Service'.

    Specific guarantee applicable in Australia only: Mandatory Statutory Rights

    Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. 

    The Mandatory Statutory Rights apply only to watches sold in Australia and presented for guarantee intervention in Australia. The Van Cleef & Arpels (International) Guarantee gives you further benefits, which are in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If you seek to rely on your Mandatory Statutory Rights under the Australian Consumer Law in relation to a defect in goods supplied, you may be entitled to recover any reasonably foreseeable loss or damage that results from the defect.  This may include the costs associated with transporting the watch to Richemont Australia Pty Ltd, an authorized Van Cleef & Arpels boutique, Van Cleef & Arpels dealer or Van Cleef & Arpels service center.

    How State and Other Laws Apply

    The Van Cleef & Arpels (International) Guarantee gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary in the United States of America from State to State and may in addition vary from one country, province or territory to another.

    Only authorized Van Cleef & Arpels boutiques, Van Cleef & Arpels dealers and Van Cleef & Arpels service centers are entitled to provide guarantee service as defined herein.

    For more information and a complete list of authorized Van Cleef & Arpels boutiques, Van Cleef & Arpels dealers and Van Cleef & Arpels service centers, please consult the Van Cleef & Arpels website www.vancleefarpels.com or ask the authorized Van Cleef & Arpels boutique or Van Cleef & Arpels dealer indicated on the guarantee card/certificate or in your sales documentation.

    Van Cleef & Arpels Service Guarantee

    Any intervention, repair or service work performed on your watch by an authorized Van Cleef & Arpels boutique, Van Cleef & Arpels dealer or Van Cleef & Arpels service center (the “Intervention”) is covered by the International Van Cleef & Arpels Service Guarantee.

    The International Van Cleef & Arpels Service Guarantee is provided for defects in replacement parts and workmanship in the framework of an Intervention for a period of one (1) year from the service date indicated in your service documentation (the “Guarantee period”).

    If the watch is returned during the Guarantee period, Van Cleef & Arpels will repair or replace the identified defective replacement parts under the International Van Cleef & Arpels Service Guarantee free of charge and within reasonable time after the watch is returned, subject to the right to charge for shipping costs.

    Upon expiration of the Guarantee period, any service/repair will be subject to a service charge.

    The International Van Cleef & Arpels Service Guarantee is not a service contract and does not cover:

    (a) defects and damages due to loss, theft or fire or other causes beyond our control;
