One masculine special order was particularly eccentric: an Indian prince commissioned a very special cage for his pet tree frog. Based on a bird cage design, he asked for a yellow gold ladder to be added, which his beloved pet would climb according to weather variations. The cage was equipped with a central wading pool and two half-moon shaped and sapphire-adorned feeders. A great variety of precious materials were used: yellow gold, black enamel, brown agate, cabochon-cut rubies, sapphires and lapis lazuli and coral details. The cage was later transformed into a birdcage and now houses two delicately carved emerald lovebirds with ruby eyes.
